A guy's regrets over moving in with his girlfriend are compounded when she dies and comes back as a zombie.
"She's back, she's dead, and she thinks we're still dating!"

Plot of the Movie:
From the creative mind of Joe Dante, it’s a very different story between Anton Yelchin, Ashley Greene, and Alexandra Daddario. A simple guy Max thought he had the perfect girlfriend until she moved in and turned into the girlfriend from Hell. But Max is about to learn some relationships just won't die. So his girlfriend comes back as a zombie and wants to continue their relationship forever.

The opening scene of Burying the Ex has some romance between Max (Anton Yelchin) and Evelyn (Ashley Greene). Don’t think this is an adult movie because of just these opening scenes. Believe me, it’s a comedy-horror story. There are few adult scenes, but the movie turns these sequences into goofy comedy.

Max is a horror geek who works at a horror novelty store. His controlling girlfriend Evelyn is an environmental blogger and eco-warrior. Evelyn and Max are living together. Evelyn is a lot to handle and Max finds himself unable to connect with her. Unknowingly, the couple promises an undying love in front of a wish-granting devil idol which Max receives mysteriously.

At one point Max plans to break up with her, because of folding and hiding his priceless artwork. But he is too scared to do that. Max turns to his slacker half-brother Travis (Oliver Cooper) for advice, Max eventually takes Travis' advice and decides to dump Evelyn, but she's hit and killed by a bus before he gets the chance.

After some time, Max is ready to move on and start a new relationship with Olivia (Alexandra Daddario). They go to the Hollywood Forever cemetery for a date. Well, it’s not continued. Evelyn digs her way out of the grave and shows up on Max's doorstep, as a zombie. Evelyn wants Max to become a zombie as well so they can spend eternity forever. When Max’s half-brother Travis has a plan, to put Evelyn back to the grave permanently. A battle ensues between Max, Evelyn, and Olivia ending with Travis.

Director Joe Dante has a sure hand at the controls and the story unfolds at a good place. Burying the Ex is not exactly a horrifying movie, it leans towards being a romantic comedy with a horror subplot and not the other way around. However, the film is undoubtedly fun. All actors are delivered their good performances and it was fun seeing the lovely Ashley Greene decomposing as the story went on. So if you are up for a chill with slight gore, then pick up some popcorn and watch this film.
